What ImportHelm does

Recover. Prevent. Manage.

Three jobs every importer needs to do every week. ImportHelm is built around all three, not a tool catalog hoping you'll figure it out.

Recover

Find potential duty overpayments across CAPE / IEEPA, Section 301 exclusions, FTA preference missed, HTS reclassification, and First Sale valuation. Export PSC, CAPE, and protest packets ready for your broker to review.

Prevent

Snap a product photo. ImportHelm runs the patent flow end-to-end: identify the HTS, compare duty across sourcing countries, surface refund candidates. All before the PO is placed. Catch tariff mistakes before they become refunds you have to chase down later.

Manage

Track shipments, container loads, documents, port risk, ISF deadlines, tariff alerts, and broker-ready packets. Every ongoing concern an importer touches, on the phone already in their pocket.

Includes 150+ specialized import tools across 10 categories. The headline is the outcomes, not the count.

The patent-pending flow

From product photo to sourcing decision in under a minute.

The differentiator. Snap, classify, compare, export. Four steps. Sixty seconds. No desktop tab-switching, no waiting on the broker for a code, no spreadsheet exports.

1. Snap

Photograph the product. ImportHelm reads material, type, and intended use. Live token streaming shows the model thinking in real time, not a blank spinner.

2. Classify

Top-3 HTS candidates with calibrated confidence, 30-50 word reasoning, and a "verify with broker" disclaimer on every result. Decision support, not customs filing.

3. Compare

Tap "Compare Across Countries" and see China, Mexico, Vietnam, India, and 20+ others ranked cheapest → most expensive for that exact HTS. World map visualization. Save preferred country per HTS.

4. Export

Send a clean broker review packet (product photo, HTS candidates, duty scenarios, refund flags, country comparison, open questions) ready for your customs broker to review and act on.

Flagship Product

ImportHelm. The import command center.

The first piece of software designed for the person who actually runs imports at a small-to-mid size U.S. company. Not for enterprise trade teams or freight forwarders. Mobile-first. Plain-English. Built for the phone that's already in their pocket.

ImportHelm

Duties. Customs. Refunds. Your phone.

150+ integrated tools wired around the patent flow: photo to HTS to cheapest sourcing country in 60 seconds, plus refund discovery, customs compliance, and trade intelligence, unified in a single mobile app. Every workflow a U.S.-inbound importer touches, on one phone. Built for the operator, not the trade lawyer.

Money on screen, not in spreadsheets

Find money hiding in your entries.

Refund Finder scans your last 90 days of import entries and flags every line where money may be recoverable. Mid-market importers typically have $40,000 to $100,000 per quarter on the table. Decision support, not customs filing. Every candidate has a "verify with broker" disclaimer.

FTA preference missed

Country qualifies for USMCA, KORUS, CAFTA-DR, etc., but the broker didn't claim the preference at entry. PSC path within 1 year of liquidation.

§301 exclusion eligible

Imported from China, paid the 25% surcharge, but USTR has an active exclusion for that HTS code. PSC or Protest path depending on liquidation status.

CAPE / IEEPA refund

Entry paid §122 IEEPA surcharge after April 5, 2025. CBP CAPE Phase 1 program (live April 2026) is the batch refund path. ImportHelm exports a CAPE-ready CSV.

HTS reclassification

Entry's effective rate >15% suggests an alternative HTS may be more accurate. Reclass typically saves 30-60% of duty. Manual broker review required before filing.

First Sale review

Large declared value (>$50K) with significant duty paid. First Sale valuation lets you declare the factory price instead of the middleman markup. Multi-tier supplier docs required.

Broker-ready exports

Every candidate exports as a clean broker review packet (entry number, HTS, paid duty, reason flagged, filing path, documents needed). Send to your customs broker via email or AirDrop.

ImportHelm doesn't file with CBP. Pre-flight check, not customs broker. Every recommendation is verified by your broker before anything is submitted to CBP.

Audit-credible math

Every number, pinned to current law.

ImportHelm's math layer is locked behind regression fixtures that track current Federal Register proclamations, USITC's authoritative 2026 schedule, and CBP COBRA FY2026 fees. Updated continuously as tariffs change. A licensed customs broker spot-checking the math will find consensus on every common scenario.

Camera Classify

The patent flow. Snap a product photo, get the top-3 HTS candidates with confidence scores, full hierarchy (chapter, heading, 10-digit code), Section 301 list tier, and §232 metal flags. Tap "Compare Countries" to see the cheapest sourcing country for that exact code.

Refund Finder

Paste 90 days of CBP entries. Engine flags missed FTA preference, §301 exclusions, CAPE / IEEPA refunds, HTS reclassifications, and First Sale candidates. Exports PSC CSV, CAPE Phase 1 CSV, or a broker packet PDF in one tap.

Helm Bot

Tool-aware AI concierge that knows every tool in the app. Ask a real customs question (Section 301 list tiers, MPF caps, drawback eligibility, §232 country variants), get a real answer plus a one-tap shortcut to the right calculator.

Tariff Engineering

Layer 3 of the patent vision. Given an HTS code, ImportHelm suggests product modifications that may shift classification into a lower-duty heading. Every suggestion cited against CBP rulings.

Updated v3.5 (May 2026): Section 232 copper added at 50% per Proclamation 10947, Russia aluminum 200% via HTSUS 9903.85.67/.68, MPF FY2026 fee thresholds, and Section 301 List 4A at 7.5% / List 4B suspended. All locked in regression fixtures.

NEW · April 2026 · Uncontested

CAPE Pre-Audit. The first pre-flight check for CBP IEEPA refund filings.

CBP launched CAPE on April 20, 2026 to batch-process IEEPA tariff refunds. Within the first six days, 75,306 CAPE Declarations were filed. ImportHelm's CAPE Pre-Audit shipped one day before CBP opened the door, and it remains the only pre-validation tool on the market. Catch CBP format rejections locally, fix the file, send a clean upload to your broker. No wasted ABI cycles, no surprise denials.

Frequently asked

Common questions from importers.

The questions we get most often from customs brokers, freight forwarders, and importers evaluating ImportHelm for the first time.

Is ImportHelm only for licensed customs brokers?

No. ImportHelm is built for the importer, freight forwarder, supply-chain manager, or operations lead who needs accurate duty math at their fingertips. Licensed customs brokers use it as a pre-flight check before filing. ImportHelm does not file with CBP; every recommendation is decision support, verified by your broker before submission.

How does ImportHelm classify a product from a photo?

Take a photo of the product. ImportHelm reads material, type, and intended use using a vision AI model, then returns the top-3 HTS candidates with calibrated confidence scores and 30-50 word reasoning for each. Every result carries a "verify with broker" disclaimer. The full HTS hierarchy (chapter, heading, full 10-digit code) is shown alongside duty rate, Section 301 list tier, and Section 232 metal flags.

What is Refund Finder?

Paste your last 90 days of CBP entries. Refund Finder scans for five categories of recoverable money: missed FTA preference, Section 301 exclusion eligibility, CAPE / IEEPA refunds, HTS reclassification candidates, and First Sale valuation review. Exports clean broker review packets (PSC CSV, CAPE Phase 1 CSV, or protest narrative) ready to send to your customs broker.

How current is ImportHelm's tariff data?

Updated continuously as tariffs change. As of May 2026 the math layer covers Section 232 copper (Proclamation 10947, 50% on primary copper mill products), Section 232 steel and aluminum at 50% with the UK carve-out at 25% and Russia aluminum at 200%, Section 232 autos at 25%, full Section 301 list tiers (1, 2, 3, 4A at 7.5%, 4B suspended), Section 122 baseline with active-window tracking, MPF and HMF at FY2026 thresholds, and 1,863 specific-rate codes including the sugar Chapter 17 polariscopic formulas. 164 regression fixtures pin the calculator against current Federal Register proclamations so a licensed customs broker spot-checking the math will find consensus on every common scenario.

About SVLTMK

Built by people who've actually imported the goods.

SVLTMK is an independent U.S. software company focused exclusively on trade technology. We were founded on the premise that the tools American importers use every day (spreadsheets, fragmented websites, phone calls to brokers) have fallen three decades behind the rest of enterprise software.

Our work is informed by more than thirty years of operating experience across supply chain, customs brokerage, import operations, and domestic home-goods distribution. We've run the receiving dock. We've argued HTS classifications with CBP. We've filed CAPE refund claims for IEEPA duties that exceeded seven figures. We know what's missing because we've missed it ourselves.

Every product we ship is mobile-first and plain-English. Every acronym has a tappable tooltip. Every screen is designed for the person who inherited compliance, not a lawyer who graduated into it. That's the standard, and it's non-negotiable.
