Max holds his lantern, and its light crosses the classroom to the Ink Blot, the first boss, tucked in under a patchwork quilt with stars and moons on it
The Ink Blot, tucked in. Its page in the book is open from the first night.

You never fight in Lullabrawl. You soothe.

Lullabrawl is a bedtime storybook game. Little fears drift toward the bed, you plant friends who calm them, and when the biggest fear of all finally kneels, you tuck it in.

Lullabrawl is coming to the App Store.

The storybook is on its way to Android phones, through Google Play.

Free, with a few short ads. Rated 9+.

How a night goes

One night, in four pages.

  1. The fears drift in

Down five lanes toward the bed they come: a letter left on the blackboard too long, a number that never got counted, a dodgeball still bouncing from recess.

    page 1
  2. You plant a friend

Your friends are letters and numbers, a sun, a cat and a dog. The Sun hums a warm tune and makes dream light, and you tap the falling stars to catch more.

    page 2
  3. The fear gets sleepy

Friends calm, they never hurt. A soothed fear sighs, falls asleep and fades away, and the night is won when every fear is asleep.

    page 3
  4. A boss, every sixth night

Each chapter ends with a boss. When it grows tired it kneels, and one tap pulls a starry quilt over it. It stays there, asleep, to the end of the night.

Night one in the classroom: Luna at the bed, the Sun card chosen in the row of friend cards, the spots nearest the bed lit up, and a hint that says Now plant it near the bed
Night one teaches you where to plant.

The tuck-in

Nobody is beaten. Everybody sleeps.

The Big Dark waits at the end of the chapter set in space. Soothe it long enough and it curls up small, and the quilt does the rest.

The dark yawns... and becomes a soft, starry blanket.

The lullaby

A lullaby that plays itself.

The music on the storybook map is not a recording. The game composes the lullaby while you listen, and it changes key and mood from one chapter to the next.
